12 Cleaning Hacks

Knowing useful cleaning hacks will help save you some time and frustration, along with a lot of wasted money on cleaning products. By saving time and effort, these 12 cleaning hacks help you have a much easier cleaning routine.

Cleaning Hacks that Will Completely Change Your Cleaning Routine

Here is a list of 12 simple cleaning hacks that will completely change your cleaning routine:

1. Use vodka or rubbing alcohol to remove stains from carpets.

Blot the stain first. Then, soak it with vodka or rubbing alcohol. This is far superior to any other chemical solution.

2. Use lemons to sanitize the garbage disposal.

Since the garbage disposal handles lots of dirty debris every day, it’s essential to make sure it’s always clean and clear of clogs. You can use a juicy lemon to clean and disinfect the garbage disposal. First, you have to cut the lemon into pieces and, then, while the water is on, drop the pieces into the garbage disposal one after the other.

3. Clean up your dish-washing sponge.

Microwave the damp sponge for thirty seconds to kill the bacteria on it. Since it will still be hot, wait a few minutes before taking it out. You may also clean your sponge by putting it in your dishwasher.

4. Wash your light fixtures in the dishwasher.

Several light fixture components can be washed in the dishwasher. Run removable glass pieces through the dishwasher to get them nice and shiny. Run a drying cycle as well to reduce stains on the light fixtures.

5. Clean your blinds using old socks.

Put a pair of old socks on your hands and wet them with water. Then clean up the blinds with them.

6. Clean your tub using baking soda and vinegar.

Pour 1 cup of vinegar, 1⁄2 a cup of baking soda, and five cups of boiling water into the unfilled tub and let it sit for 10 min. Then, fill it with heated water until it’s about a quarter full, then wait for another 10 minutes. After that, open the drain and wash the tub completely.

7. Shine up your laundry with baking soda.

Simply add a cup of baking soda to the wash cycle to make your clothing shiny and bright.

8. Clean up the ceilings with a paint roller.

Ceilings can be difficult to keep clean. If you don’t tread carefully, cleaning them with a sweeper may rip down shards. Roll a moist large paint roller over the ceiling to take up dirt and cobwebs so you can have a more efficient cleanup process.

9. Clean stainless steel appliances with rubbing alcohol.

You just need a microfiber or soft cloth as well as a little rubbing alcohol to give stainless steel appliances a nice, spotless shine!

10. Shine up the wooden furniture using lemon oil and vinegar.

Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on wooden furniture. Weekly wiping is required to keep them polished. Use a blend of one teaspoon of lemon oil and one teaspoon of white vinegar for a more lustrous finish.

11. Use rubber gloves to remove pet hair.

Rubber gloves will do the trick if your vacuum cleaner can’t get most of the pet’s hair. Simply put them on your hands and give a good scrub to any spots that have to be cleaned more. Rubber may provide elasticity when pressed against cloth, allowing it to collect any lingering pet hair.

12. Use vinegar and baking soda to clean the dishwasher.

To begin, place one cup of baking soda in the base of the unfilled dishwasher and leave it for 12 hours. Now, rather than using chemicals, run the dishwasher on the hottest cycle to disinfect and freshen the dishwasher. It’s important to keep in mind to clean the dishwasher filter, too.
